Positive self-talk

No one can be as critical to us as ourselves. We spent a lot of time telling ourselves our thighs are too big, our nose too crooked, or out legs too skinny or at least thinking that.

Start your day with a positive thought about yourself – tell yourself one praise regarding your physical look (or your skills and strengths). Surround yourself with positive affirmations – they may sound cheesy to you but they work. Stick a few positive affirmations about yourself in every room, especially in those you spend a lot of time in.

At the end of the day, tell yourself 5 things you did that make you feel good or 5 things you like about your looks or the way you are.

Combat perfectionism

It’s possible you feel insecure about the way you look because you think your body should be perfect. Well, there’s no such thing.

Instead, evaluate yourself according to how much effort you put in taking care of yourself. That’s the only thing that matters.

Also, take a good look at everybody around you – we all have imperfections and nobody is without a “flaw”. See yourself through other people’s eyes and you will realize you, too, have strong sides, such as great hair or nice smile. You don’t have to be perfect because no one else is.

You will also notice that the better your diet is, the better you will also feel mentally. You will sleep better and have more energy – and it’s hard to feel bad about your physical look when you feel refreshed and energized.
