You don’t need to meditate for long hours but your ten to fifteen minutes would be enough. If you love to do regular yoga, adjust the meditation time after completing your yoga. 

2. Find the Perfect Place

Along with the right time, it is mandatory to pick the right place for doing meditation. The right place does not mean a decorated room, but it means a room with peace and no distractions at all. You can choose a corner of your bedroom and start doing meditation. Also, take a one-timer that will create a beep sound at the end of the session. If you do not want continuously check the time then this timer is perfect for you. Also, keep your phone silent so that no one can disturb you.  

3. Do Warm-Up

Before starting meditation, you can warm up by doing a little yoga session. This will help you to concentrate more while doing meditation. Warm-up is perfect for those who are beginners in this field. Later on, when you know how to control your mind, then warm-up will not necessary. 

4. Learn Different Seating Position

If it is difficult for you to sit on the floor, then you should take a blanket or cushion for comfortable seating. There are special meditation cushions available in the market. You should also try a cross-legged position while doing yoga. Most people find it difficult to sit in a cross-legged position and if you are one of them, then you should avoid it.

If the cross-legged position is not comfortable for you, then you can also try virasana. This position is good for those who have a back problem. People who cannot sit on the floor, then can take a chair and start doing meditation. You should find one comfortable chair where you can sit and position your feet on the floor without any problem. 5. Various Mudras or Hand Positions

First of all, be comfortable, and then close your eyes and start observing your breath. Make sure that you do not change your breath while doing meditation. There is a high probability that you will start deepening your breath when you will start observing it. But, you should try to resist the urge. Pay your complete attention to your breathing cycle.

You will start sensing the airflow from your nostrils. This way, you can count your breaths and this will let you stay attentive. If your mind starts wandering here and there, then try to notice your thoughts and gradually start realizing them out.  Some meditator can also picture them as floating away. After that, finally, start returning your focus to your breathing.

7. Time Frame

If you are a beginner, you can start it with five minutes only. You should set the timer for just five minutes. If in these five minutes you are not able to control your focus on breathing style, and then practice it for many days until you are fully capable to do it. Slowly, start increasing your time! But, add only one more minute on your time frame. Gradually increase your time limit and make it ten minutes in a day, after that twenty and so on. 

8. Finish It

When your timer beeps up, then you should open your eyes. Take a pause for a few minutes and observe how you are feeling after doing meditation. If your body is stiff, then you should slowly move your hands, then your knees. You can also do little stretch up to bring flexibility in your body.   Final Words Meditation is a process to train your mind.
