Acer Aspire One Reviews | Depth Review & Buyer Guides

Acer Aspire One Reviews

If you are on a tight budget, then Acer has on the best collection of budget laptops. Acer Aspire One is one of those laptops. Do we have to take a more in-depth look at the computer to understand who this laptop is made for?

Design:

Aspire One is undoubtedly a looker. The design of this laptop is perfect, considering its price. It has a slim profile overall. The weight of the laptop is also quite manageable at 3.3 pounds. It is very lightweight and easy to carry around than its competitors in the same price range.

The color scheme of the Acer Aspire One is quite simplistic in design. There are no fancy colors here. The top portion of the laptop is quite tremendous and looks very appealing.

Build:

The build quality of this laptop is not that great. The lid is made out of plastic, which is not that good. It flexes under pressure. The keyboards can be pushed down like a spring, which is another sign of poor build quality. Coming to the right side of the build, it comes with 180-degree hinges, making the laptop to rotate to the backside fully.

This laptop design would have been great if offered with a touch screen option, but there is no touch screen available with the Acer Aspire One.

Connectivity:

In the ports department, Acer is quite active. The left side contains the SD card slot, USB 3.0 port HDMI, Ethernet port, and a Kensington lock. The right side has 2 USB 2.0 ports and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

USB-C is missing from this laptop, which might be a bummer for some people.

Display:

It comes with a 14-inch 1080p display. The level of detail is quite good, but the images look as washed out. The critical thing to note in this display is that it provides a very natural color tone. There are no vivid colors present here, which some people generally prefer a flat color scheme.

It is capable of reproducing 71% of sRGB color gamut, which is impressive for a $250 laptop. It comes with a maximum brightness of 206 nits, but outdoor conditions will cause a severe viewing problem.

Keyboard:

The keyboard is also an essential thing in a gaming laptop. This keyboard comes with a short essential travel which makes typing on this laptop perfect. The only problem with typing on this keyboard is the up and down arrow keys, which are way too small when compared to the others. It makes it harder to type.

Touchpad:

The touchpad on the Lenovo is based on a click pad design, as there are no buttons on the trackpad. You don’t expect a touchpad like a MacBook in this price range. The touchpad is of average build quality, and there is a rattling noise whenever it is pressed upon.

The mouse buttons work when pressure is applied to them. One major problem is that fingertips, when moves on this touchpad, are met with high resistance. It ruins the whole experience of using the touchpad.

Performance:

You can’t expect much from a laptop at this price point. It comes with an Intel Celeron N4000 CPU with 4 GB of RAM. It also contains 64 GB of storage. This laptop is fragile when it comes to performance. It can’t open ten simultaneous tabs of chrome. You have to wait a long time for it to open all the pages. But once they have been opened, you will not find this thing to be weak.

A 1080p display also consumes more processing power due to the high pixel count. The storage on this laptop is also quite fast and can transfer files at a respectable rate.

Battery Life:

The battery life is one of the most disappointing areas of this laptop. As this is a budget laptop with a low-end processor, it should last longer, but at 150 nits of brightness with web surfing, this laptop lasted around 6 hours. These numbers might seem high, but when compared with their competitors, they are weak. If you are looking for laptops under 200$, then must visit: gaming laptops under 200.

Conclusion:

Acer Aspire One is one of the best budget laptops due to its excellent build quality and a good display. Its performance is also good for the price. If the battery life was better, this could’ve been the best device. Visit our website for more information homegadgetguides.com.
